Botox and Fillers 

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by Dr. Jacques Cilliers as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria.

This protein reduces the activity of the muscles it is injected into by temporarily blocking the transmission of nerve impulses. By paralyzing the selected muscles the lines that previously formed are now prevented from forming.

Because the protein is taken up by the nerve, the effects are not immediate. Results will be seen in three days with maximum results noted in 10 days. Results can last up to four months.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is also commonly used for forehead lines, wrinkles around the eyes, lipstick lines and many other areas!

THE TREATMENT

The administration of BOTOX® Cosmetic involves:

• No anesthesia is required. However, Dr. Jacques Cilliers may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief.

• Dr. Jacques Cilliers will administer a few tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic directly into the muscles that cause those moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows.

• Approximately 10 minutes for the entire treatment.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

• No downtime is needed – you're ready to get on with your day!

• Dr. Jacques Cilliers will give you specific aftercare instructions.
